Honest note: the AI part is drafting (ChatGPT) and image help (Canva). Make just moves content between apps, a rule-based step. The source is an anonymous self-report, so treat the traffic number as one person's claim.

Prerequisites

  • ChatGPT (the author uses Plus; a free plan works for lighter use), Canva (Pro for Brand Kit), Make, Buffer (free plan: 3 channels), WordPress, Notion and Google Sheets.
  • Three or four samples of your own writing, so drafts match your voice.

Step-by-step setup

Step 1. Plan on Monday (30 min). In ChatGPT give it your content pillars, audience and your existing posts, and ask for a batch of topics with angles and keywords. Drop the picks into a Notion content calendar (title, keyword, type, due date).

Step 2. Draft with a brief. For each blog post give ChatGPT topic, keyword, audience, word count, tone and your sample writing. Expect a first draft that's about 70% there, then spend 30–45 minutes adding your own examples, cutting fluff and checking every claim. For social, batch five posts in one chat from the week's blog topics.

Step 3. Make the visuals once. In Canva open the home side panel Brand → Create new Brand Kit (logos, colors, fonts), then build templates for blog images, social graphics and email headers. Swap the title and export; the author spends about 5 minutes per graphic.

Step 4. Automate the hand-offs in Make. In Make click Create a new scenario → + → pick an app → configure → add modules → Run once → toggle ON. Build three: (a) approved Notion entry → WordPress draft + a Slack ping to review; (b) Google Sheet of social posts → Buffer schedule; (c) newsletter sent at a fixed time on Thursdays.

Step 5. Keep a human gate. Nothing publishes without your review. The WordPress step creates a draft only.
