I sell [PRODUCT] to [CUSTOMER TYPE, e.g. bars and restaurants]. Help me define Bronze, Silver and Gold account tiers using [CRITERIA, e.g. expected monthly volume, location, brand fit]. Give a simple scoring table, what each tier gets (visit frequency, point-of-sale support), and a 3-question checklist reps can use to tier a new inquiry in under a minute.

> Cost: Paid. Pipedrive Premium is $59 per user/month (annual), which includes Web Forms and Smart Docs. 14-day free trial.

Honest note: rule-based CRM automation, not AI. The numbers come from a Pipedrive-published story, and a Pipedrive consulting partner did much of the brewery's customisation. Everything below uses standard features, but expect your results to differ. Tiering accounts (bronze, silver, gold) is a sales habit the software supports, not something it does for you.

Prerequisites

  • Pipedrive Premium (or Growth plus the LeadBooster and Smart Docs add-ons), with admin rights for deals.
  • Access to your website to paste a form embed code.
  • A Google Drive, OneDrive or SharePoint account for document templates.
  • Your contract or onboarding document as a template.

Step-by-step setup

Step 1. Add a tier field. Add a custom deal or organisation field "Tier" (Bronze, Silver, Gold) so reps can sort accounts by potential (check field settings on screen).

Step 2. Create the website form. Go to Leads > Web Forms > New Web Form, pick a template and click Create form. Add fields (venue name, city, type, contact, message), adjust Style, and under submit options choose to save as a Deal (or Lead). Then Share and embed → Copy to clipboard and paste the code on your website's contact page.

Step 3. Automate the follow-up. From the account menu go to Tools and apps > Automations → + Automation. Choose an Event trigger (deal created), click Apply trigger, add a condition (source = web form), then add actions: create an activity "Call within 24 hours" for the owner and send a welcome email. Click Save and set it Active.

Step 4. Set up Smart Docs. Open a deal → Documents tab → Connect cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive or SharePoint). On the Templates tab click + Create new and insert Pipedrive fields (venue name, address, price list) into your contract.

Step 5. Send contracts from the deal. In a deal, create a document From template, check it, then Share → Request signatures (or Share as link).

Step 6. Track what each account has. Add custom fields or products for point-of-sale items lent out (fridges, glassware) so you know what's at each venue.

Step 7. Dashboards. Go to Insights → + → Report and build reports by account manager (deals won, time to close).

Easier: let your AI do it

Pipedrive has an official MCP server, a secure plug that lets an AI chat like Claude look up and update your deals with your permission.

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector. Name it "Pipedrive MCP", paste https://mcp.pipedrive.ai/mcp and click Add (Claude's free plan allows one custom connector). Pipedrive is also in Claude's connector directory.
  2. Sign in to Pipedrive and click Allow and install.
  3. Try: "Show me deals that haven't had an activity in 14 days, grouped by owner."

What success looks like

No inquiry gets lost, reps start the day with a clear call list, and a new venue can be signed the same day it says yes.

Common issues & fixes

  • No "Web Forms" menu: your plan doesn't include LeadBooster, or you're not a deals admin.
  • Automation didn't run: it's not set to Active, or the condition doesn't match the form's deals.
  • Template fields blank: the deal is missing that field's value.

Optional: Maintenance

  • Monthly: review tiers and move accounts up or down.
  • Quarterly: update contract templates.
