Honest note: mix of rules (forms, SMS, delays) and Klaviyo product AI where available. Vendor-reported ROI. Skip insurance-pricing personalization if you are not in that model—use the replenishment and survey pattern only.
Prerequisites
- Klaviyo + WooCommerce (or Shopify) integration with Placed Order syncing.
- SMS optional but useful for abandonment/win-back (compliance required).
- Typical days-of-supply for your top reorder SKU (for example 30, 60, 90).
Step-by-step setup
Step 1. Create a replenishment flow. Flows → Create flow. Use a replenishment template or Build your own with metric Placed Order. Add a trigger filter if the flow is for one product (Items contains that product name).
Step 2. Set the delay and buyer filter. Add a Time delay near the end of the supply window (for example day 25 of a 30-day product). Keep filter Placed Order zero times since starting this flow (limit to that product if the flow is product-specific) so reorders cancel the reminder.
Step 3. Use predicted next-order date only if you see it. If your account shows Klaviyo's predicted next-order / AI replenishment timing, prefer that delay. If not, keep the fixed day delay—both are valid.
Step 4. Add a signup survey fly-out. Create a Signup form (popup or flyout) with one question (for example interest in kids' products or a symptom category that is appropriate for your brand). On submit, Add to list and apply a tag/property. Build a small flow triggered by that tag for tailored education (no medical claims).
Step 5. SMS versions of win-back / abandonment. Copy your email abandoned-cart and win-back patterns; add a single consented SMS where allowed (see Klaviyo SMS abandoned-cart rules).
Step 6. Review and turn on. Test with a short delay, then set real timing and Live.
Easier: let your AI do it
Klaviyo has no official one-click Claude/ChatGPT/Grok connector we could confirm for building flows end-to-end. Draft copy with the prompt below, then build flows in Klaviyo's editor (Klaviyo also has its own AI features inside the product on eligible plans).
What success looks like
Customers get a nudge before they run out—not a random sale blast. Survey answers open the right education flow. Automation's share of revenue rises versus your baseline (the brand cited 47% from automations).
Common issues & fixes
- Reminder after they already reordered: fix the "Placed Order zero times since starting" filter.
- Wrong product reminded: tighten Items contains trigger filter.
- Form not tagging: check the form's submit actions.
Optional: Maintenance
- Recalculate average reorder days quarterly from Klaviyo analytics.
- Retire survey questions that never convert.
