Text reminders and review requests
Chiropractic office · show rate up nearly 10%
- Task
- replace phone reminders and in-person review asks with automated texts
- Result
- show rate up nearly 10% from reminders alone; ~99% of missed appointments rescheduled by text, more than half of "missed you" texts recover the visit; reviews: 135 in 7 years of asking → ~135/year with automation (424 new in 3 years, 500+ total); owner says ~15 new patients/week come from reviews; fewer phone calls let them reduce staff by one (with fewer insurances accepted)
- Tools
- Zingit (text reminders, two-way texting, review requests, paperwork links)
- Setup
- appointment reminder texts replace staff phone calls → text a friendly "we missed you" message with office hours to late/no-show patients → auto-send a review request after the first visit and after each progress exam → text new patients a link to the website and intake paperwork before the first visit

Honest note: this is rule-based texting (timed reminders and review asks). There's no generative AI. Zingit is built for chiropractors and its team migrates your data and configures it, so ask for these settings by name. Menu paths aren't public.
Prerequisites
- A text-messaging service for patient reminders and reviews. This case used Zingit. Alternatives include your practice-management system's built-in texting.
- Patient consent to text, and your Google Business Profile link.
Step-by-step setup
Step 1. Reminders before every visit. Ask for automated text reminders with your own timing (for example, 24 hours and 2 hours before). Replies let patients confirm or reschedule by text. Before this, staff phoned new patients and hoped regulars remembered.
Step 2. Missed-visit text. Send a friendly message when someone is late or misses. The office used: "Hey, we missed you this morning. We're in the office from 2–6 this afternoon." They say more than half of these recover the visit, and most reschedules happen by text.
Step 3. Automatic review request. Send the Google review ask after the first visit and after each progress exam, when patients are most positive. Before this, asking in person got about one in five to think of it. Don't screen: send to every patient.
Step 4. Paperwork by text. For new patients, text a link to your website and the intake forms before the first visit.
Step 5. Measure. Track show rate (before and after), new reviews per month, and new patients who say they found you through reviews.
