Prerequisites

- SMS credits if you want text reminders (check your balance under Plans & Prices).
Step-by-step setup
Step 1. Switch on notifications. Go to Settings → Email and SMS settings and tick the boxes for the notifications you want, for confirmation and reminders.
Step 2. Set up to three reminders. In the same page set the timing for each reminder, for both clients and staff, then click edit template to change the wording. Save.
Step 3. Edit templates with variables. Use placeholders such as [client_name], [service], [provider], [date_start] and [time_start].
Step 4. Add client forms. Enable the Intake Forms custom feature, create your fields (mark key ones required) and attach the form to the services that need it. Add the form's variables to your templates.
Step 5. Separate wording per location or practitioner. Enable Flexible Notifications under custom features to write templates per service or provider.
Step 6. Check it works. Book a test appointment. If messages don't arrive, check the boxes in Step 1, the client's contact details and your SMS balance.
